Abstract
" Foreign direct investment (FDI) and international trade play a vital role in the development of the economies of several countries. The relation between foreign direct investment, trade openness and sustainable industrial competitiveness in Bangladesh studied here. Based on understanding how the factors here affect industrial development contributes in making better economic policies. The objective here is to discover if foreign direct investment and trade openness help in improvement of industrial government related factors that could support the growth of industries over time. The data set is a time series dataset of Bangladesh covering years 1995 to 2024, collected from World Bank Open Data, World Development Indicators, World Government Indicators. Adding to that the data set has been analysed using Microsoft Excel. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics, trend analysis and correlation analysis. The analysis suggests that during the time period 1995 to 2024, the foreign direct investment openness averaged about a bit low on range 0.005% to 1.74% and average GDP of 0.68%, trade openness average was 33.80% of the GDP. The indicators of economic and development showed significant improvement. Strong connection between foreign direct investment and trade openness showing a strong connection during the correlation analysis. International market exposure and improved economic integration with a global economy can be seen through the provided trade openness. In conclusion, suggestive leave when there will be growth in trade openness, it is linked to high foreign direct investment as larger access to international market creating significant opportunities for sustainable industry. "
