Abstract

Women’s economic empowerment, education parity, and inclusive growth are important for sustainable development in Bangladesh. Women’s taking part in education and economic activities has improved over time, challenges such as low income and limited financial opportunities still exist. This study shows the relationship between women’s economic empowerment, education parity, and inclusive growth in Bangladesh. The study uses secondary data from the World Bank Open Data platform including the period 1995–2024. Several indicators were analysed, including female labor force participation, gender parity in education, GDP per capita, internet users and government effectiveness. The descriptive results show that the female labor force participation rate ranged from 26.47% to 43.69%, with an average of 33.26%. The education gender parity index ranged from 1.05 to 1.15, shows a positive and encouraging space for womens to join. Adult literacy rate varied from 47.49% to 79.00%. GDP per capita ranging from USD 309.46 to USD 2716.49 which is increasing, while internet usage expanded from 0.0007% to 53.42% of the population. Correlation analysis shows a strong positive relationship between female labor force participation and GDP per capita (r = 0.94), internet users (r = 0.89), and tertiary enrollment (r = 0.96). Voice and accountability showed a negative relationship with several development indicators. The research suggest that improvements in education, digital access, and economic growth are closely associated with women’s economic participation and inclusive development in Bangladesh.
