Professor Farheen Hassan Ph.D., SFHEA, is sponsored by AIUB and participated in the WURI Global Conference 2026 , held from 23–25 September 2026 at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Germany . The conference brought together academics, higher education leaders, researchers, and institutional innovators from around the world to exchange ideas and explore transformative approaches to higher education.

As part of the conference, Professor Hassan presented her research paper titled “Institutionalizing SDGs in HE Process: A Case Study of Bangladesh.” The presentation examined the integration and institutionalization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within higher education processes, with reference to the context of Bangladesh. The research highlighted the importance of embedding sustainability principles within institutional strategies, academic practices, governance, and quality enhancement mechanisms to support the long-term contribution of higher education institutions to national and global development priorities.

A significant achievement during the conference was Professor Hassan’s selection and subsequent election as President of WUNI Global Leaders. This prestigious leadership role reflects the international recognition of her academic expertise, leadership experience, and commitment to advancing innovation and sustainable development in higher education.

Professor Hassan also completed specialized training toward becoming an Accreditor for WURI Accreditation , with the accreditation initiative scheduled to commence in 2027. This training will further strengthen her capacity to contribute to the evaluation and advancement of innovative practices in higher education institutions at the international level.

Another notable outcome of the conference was the successful proposal and finalization of the WURI Global Conference 2027 , which is scheduled to be hosted by the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in December 2027. The forthcoming conference will provide an important international platform for academics, institutional leaders, innovators, and higher education stakeholders to share research, innovative practices, and perspectives on the future of higher education.
